FC3S…update

For Christmas Davids Fiancé bought him a Canon 60D DSLR and since then hes been taking pics of just about everything. Below is some current pictures of how his RX7 now sits, Its had a recent make over (mostly to allow him to use the ridiculous amounts of lock his car has to offer with his custom knuckles(and extended lower control arms) he made, and slightly due to a mishap on track which left him in need of some minor front end repairs)

The new parts that have been added recently :

Foresight Carbon Weather Shields
Foresight 45mm Front Guards
Foresight 35mm Rear Guards
FC3S Series 5 Turbo Bonnet

A great way to start the new year….ROADTRIP!!!

After a week off from working under the bonnet of numerous cars and having one of our quietest new years in a long time we decided to start the year off with a bang and head to Canberra on the first of many Roadtrips for the year..so we all climbed aboard Davids new ride and headed north.

David had only recently picked up his new ride from a mate of ours Krish. Its a Lexus IS200 with some nice factory Altezza touches, and not to mention the SilkRoad Coilovers… Instantly we fell in love with the ride quality that this suspension offers…unbelievable! Next thing that was needed was a set of wheels…We had a set of Stern wheels we’d purchased as spare skid rims sitting at the shop so we decided to try these out, the Stern’s measured 17×9 +20. We removed the centers and resprayed them in a Suzuki Gold (same colour as the Project NA’s Demon Cambers)Fitted some 215/45 and 225/45 and away we went…

Above is the real reason we headed north to visit Canberra. We went to try out the new Belco skateboard park and to ride some of the great street spots our nations captial has to offer.

After a 12 hour day of skating we hit the bottle…hard…caused a Ruckus and partied like Rockstars. The 7 hour drive home the next day felt like death…

Wakefield Matsuri Road Trip – Vic Drift Members Day

Well it sure has been a busy couple of weeks we’ve had. Wakefield Matsuri was done and dusted. All cars except Alex’s Silvia survived (1 gearbox and a drive shaft)but this was fixed over the weekend with spare parts we brought with us. My 180 i drove up and drove home again with Zero problems (new Matrix tune is unreal!! Thanks again Maztech! 7ltrs/100km !!! WTF???10ltrs/100km around town) The 180 had some teething issues(and so did i) since this was its first venture back on track since the 3 year rebuild. Tyres were the main problem (no grip up front), these are now going to be upgraded to Toyo R1R’s in the new year. I’ve currently changed the wheels to white Work XD9′s all round (running Federal 595 Evo’s up front) so i have a half decent setup until new tyres are sourced.

Vicdrift Members day was a good way to finish the year. A last minute spot opened up for my brother to enter his RX7 and along with a few mates/customers cars. in 2 hours of drifting they got more laps in than we did at the 2 day matsuri!! Was a great day and it ran really well. We managed to come away with a few battle scars, along with Gerald blowing his 3rd gears and Calvin popping his turbo.

Thanks Adam from Lazy Boy Photography for the pics

Also coming up shortly will be few spot lights on some of the cars we’ve completed in the past few weeks.

NA Silvia Project is also nearing completion. Wheels have all been painted and the car is almost together again. We will be bringing it out for the Hard Tuned Christmas Charity Cruise this coming Sunday!

Cutting Room Floor…

Its been awhile since i updated the blog so i’ll give you a quick run down of whats been happening lately.

I got a phone call from my photographer Jun Sawa explaining how the guys at HPI hadnt used any of the pictures he’d edited for the shoot, and he told me how their refeaturing the car in Decembers Fast Fours magazine with the correct pictures!

Heres a couple of samples that i got sent to me.

These pictures look so much better! cant wait for the new mag to come out.

Updates on the 180SX

Car was taken to Maztech and had a full tune done on it. The car made a very healthy 252kw at only 15psi. This has to be the best tune the cars ever had, so smooth to drive now.

Updates on the FC3S

Davids wide body kit arrived from Foresight in Japan and we spent no time in getting it painted up and fitted to the car. The kit consists of 45mm wider fronts and 35mm wider rears now allow the FC to use all of its extra lock thanks to the custom knuckles David made up for it. Photos will be uploaded once the car is all back together.

Updates on the AW11 MR2

We finally dusted off the MR2 and purchased a set of BC V1 Coilovers for it and lowered it (as far as they would go) and installed its new wheels TE37v copied (Rota GridV). I cant wait to drive this car once its finished! It looks so good sitting this low..

Updates on the Project NA Silvia

The new NA project car will start to be prepped for paint in the coming week. The theme we’ve gone with will surely look the goods.. Updates to follow shortly…

Back by Popular Demand – Project Silvia – The NA Chronicles..4.0

After getting countless phone calls, sms’s and emails asking about if the silvia is still forsale and if were building another one and when. Well here it is!
Our friend Rob from Ghetto Garage Drifters let us know about a Silvia forsale in Ballarat (also came with a wrecked shell) and for the price we couldnt say no. So off we went to Ballarat the next day to pick up this rough diamond…(two days later i made the trip back and retrieved the stacked shell)..
The new silvia is currently Matt black and has had some “Ghetto Garage” mods done to it but with abit of hard work we’ll turn this into something epic!

Mods currently on it
SR20DE
Shortened Intake Pipe
Red Spark leads
Alluminium Radiator
Alluminium Overflow
Alluminium Catch can
2 1/4″ Exhaust
Tein Coilovers
Front Strut brace
Rear Strut brace
JJ Front Sway Bar
JJ Rear Sway Bar
Mongoose Alarm
Pimp Zebra interior retrim
Drift Button
Bonnet Pins
Locked 4.3 Ratio Diff.
Impul 16×8 +30 5 spoke rims

Plans for this project : Prmal Xtra Lock Knuckles, Respray, New Wheels (paint centers), Lower it..Job Done! Body needs abit of work to clean it up but in the coming weeks should look quiet good.

The day after picking the car up i had already sourced a new set of wheels to go on it, a set of 15×7 +0 CST Precedo Demon Cambers with tyres. (you may remember them as being the same wheels as Project Hill Climb (NA Project Silvia 1.0 but in 15″ not 16″ as below). Good looking Jap Dished rim which sit perfect on a Silvia (nice and flush).

I’ll upload some pics of how the car currently sits in later today..

HPI Cover Photoshoot…

Jason Round of Express Media Group contacted me over a year ago asking if they could do a feature on the 180SX(he’d been following my build on ). i said id let him know when it was ready and on the road, so last week i let him know it was ready and he wasted no time organise a photoshoot. So yesterday Jun Sawa () who shot our last feature for Fast Fours and Rotaries braved the weather and spent the afternoon taking photos of my car. The 180SX will be Featured in the upcoming July Performance Imports Magazine. So look out for it on the Front Cover!!

Loving Life…in the 180…

Driving the 180 is making me realise why i rebuilt this car..Ive had an ongoing Love Hate relationship with this car ever since i bought it back in 2001 and alot of nagging issues with driving it that i really hated, only by removing everything and starting from scratch was i able to fix these issues. Now finally after 10 years of owning this car it is looking and driving how ive always envisioned it..

Tomorrow the cars getting a detail to make the paint look nice again before we head up to Winton to put the final extra k’s on the engine before its ready for its full tune!

Heres how it looked the other day when i gave it a quick wash….
